I see post like this all the time, people having to defend themselves or their friends against the MAD PACK, when people should really just back off....don't care for him, don't read him, that is your Provocative but don't smear his name or attack him or get Green with envy in the meantime.

As I told Chris Brogan in a tweet earlier today, I don't see a conflict involving Sony and Panasonic. My issue -- and Leah is pointing to it in her comment above -- is the conflict that accompanies sponsored posts and blogging junkets like the ones so many A-listers routinely accept.

I don't read posts that result from such arrangements, as they are tainted by the almighty dollar. It's not a matter of honesty or ethics, as Chris Brogan always discloses these relationships. It's about the objectivity can credibility of content that results. We don't tend to bite the hand that feeds.

I appreciate you taking the time to write this post in response - Idan is working on trackbacks as I type.

Chris and Steve Garfield took the time to lay out the context of the agreement and in doing so have changed my opinion about conflict of interest in this case.

The larger conversation about keeping a foot in each world is still one worth discussing and I'm glad to see those comments moving along as well.
