		<description>Great post, Chris. I think if Gary Vee wants to run Google ads to bring in new followers, more power to him (though it&#039;s pretty obvious by now that more Twitter followers doesn&#039;t translate into more influence or credibility). 
 
But if a social media site does promote a user or company in return for a payment, we definitely deserve to know about it. (I&#039;m guessing that&#039;s not the case with Twitter here.) Pretty simple: the greater the transparency, the further one is from that dubious fuzzy ethical line. </description>
